I had the pleasure of meeting them while they helped coordinate and plan parties for one of the gyms I work and teach at! It would be an understatement to say that these people are cool and kind......ugh. The most down to earth, caring, and generous souls you will probably ever encounter! And they're also not bad to look at! Quite the power couple if I may.
About a month back i started working with them to capture the essence of their events! Usually always laced in Chic-ness and elegance, our collab has been a marvelous one! Krystal's attention to detail with her design elements, to John's charisma on ground zero of the events, make for a tag team that snags the hearts of many. I love working with people that love what they do! It's inspiring and holds me accountable to bring to the table just as much passion and talent!

HOLIDAY CASINO NIGHT
Of course, with the holidays among us, we can't forget how busy they probably get with so many parties taking place around town! Part of their production specialty involves the creation of Unique Christmas Trees! Last I knew they were up to 10 Christmas trees!! Oh, and not your ordinary trees, like HUGE trees!! 20 footers that they have to im sure install and dress. Crazy thing is, theres that window of about a week where everyone wants their tree to go up. Since we haven't yet, as a human species, discovered the ability to successfully clone or teleport, you can imagine the craziness that these two deal with trying to get all these decorations in place! Luckily, they have an amazing team and support system that allows them to go above and beyond to complete these projects with such grace!
Food was again pretty exceptional. Open bar, my kind of party! For a good two hours, you were easily transported to the front lines of a casino in vegas, with the bedazzled, sequined server outfits, feathered ornaments, chips and dice! Strangers became friends, friends became....well, friendlier, and I got to take it all in with my lenses! here's a few more shots of that night!
Poise, power, and Sexiness are just three of the many elements that are married beautifully in Nicole Rush's DNA. Her trajectory in fitness and health is extensive. I've had the priviledge of working alongside her as a fellow Spin and Yoga instructor at YAS in Downtown LA. This woman spearheads her own style of workout that she cleverly refers to as the SEXY FIT WORKOUT, or SEXY FIT METHOD. From the workouts themselves, to the choices you will make about diet and excercise, she guides and empowers you to achieve your Inner Sexy. All year long she motivates people to achieve their full potential while simultaneously tackling her own fitness regime. We often forget as students or trainees, that the instructors need their own training as well!
Check out some of the magic we got to create with these ladies...and gentleman! Michael Marinola is a staple at these Sexy Fit gatherings! Gender is no boundry! Rush urges everyone to tap into that Sexy that lives in each of us! I got to dance and learn some of the moves myself after shooting....I'm not as good as the rest of the gang tho! :)
Now in its third year of celebration, West Hollywood's Own Pacific Design Center was the scene for this year's Friend Movement 'Stardust Soiree' Gala. All the honorees and guests convened inside of Industry Gallery to recognize the hard work and dedication set forth by the friend family, and to continue to celebrate and spread the word about friendship!
Friend Movement prides itself on the support it receives from artists and entrepreneurs who pay it forward while on the pursuit of their own goals and dreams! Many will proudly admit that, through friendship and the support shown by their peers, they were able to get to where they are now. One of those friends happens to be none other than Will Mochon, the recipient of the evening's coveted "Thank You For Being A Friend" Award. Dealing with the recent passing of his parents, Will reminds us how it is the friendship and love he is shown that keeps him going. He reciprocates that friendly embrace by giving back to his community. Mr. Mochon is active with GLSEN and Trevor Project where he helps people of all walks of life, young and old, deal with their struggles. He takes on so much and gives back so much despite his own personal becomings. Never complaining, and always embodying the true character of friendship in his work and life, it is no wonder Friend Movement picked him as the next in line for this honorable award! This evening's Soiree is dedicated to his parents who are "looking down at their boy, proud!" (-Eddie Lobo)
We recently got to work with Mr. Ted Hart! He's the author of 6 motivating and educational books perfect for the philanthropic entrepreneur in each and every one of us! Ted, best known as the Non-Profit Coach, landed a photoshoot with us at Augustus Photography through his own generous and charitable contributions to an organization near and dear to our hearts known as the Friend Movement! You may have seen posts or heard us talking about them (Friend Movement) in the past! They are a non-profit that combats the negativity of bullying through the promotion of friendship!
Beyond pen and paper, Ted is a very warm and charming man. Leading his life, it seems, like he leads his talks; Highly motivating, joyful, and grateful! He's a father of two and, in a recent interview, when asked what he'd do if he won a million dollars, he answered with creating a trust for his children. Really falls in line with his selfless and giving nature!
I haven't posted anything in a hot minute. I've been surprisingly busy. The life of an artist in LA, as cliché as it sounds, at times, requires the constant juggling of multiple jobs. I feel blessed and can thankfully admit that I'm relieved I'm not in the normal predicament of hating my "day job"! I quite love it! I work the desk and teach at a local YOGA and SPIN (YAS)Studio in DTLA. It allows me ample flexibility as far as pursuing my photographic endeavors. Speaking of such endeavors, I just completed an E-Commerce Project with Rissa Jarratt; A world Traveler, blogger, and entrepreneur! She hired me to shoot her collections which are an articulation of her unique style! She spent 6 weeks travelling around the globe, collecting unique treasures, gaining valuable life experiences, connecting with her inner self, and enjoying every moment that presented itself to her! This collection is only the beginning of an awesome movement. I was so happy to be a part of making her vision and business come to life!
MODEL: Marissa Braun

It's always such a compliment when you can book jobs from a referral. WORD OF MOUTH is such a strong marketing tool! People trust real experiences from people they know! (shoutout to ASHLEY SUGARMAN for this one!) Before we knew it, we had dates and a game plan in place!
The shoot itself is usually pretty smooth and fun. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Marissa Braun who was our fit model for this project. Rissa's joyous and caring energy created a seamless chemistry between all parties involved.
The bulk of the work with e-commerce projects is in the aftermath. Unlike a typical editorial shoot where you're only shooting for 5-7 amazing photos, for an online catalog, you need every single photo to work. That means lots of hours on the computer sizing photos, adjusting and correcting anything that needs it, and tons of coffee! Here are some screenshots of the now up and running site; RISSA JARRATT
One really awesome thing about landing an e-commerce gig and doing a bang up job, is the opportunity for repeat business. Stuff sells out, new product is acquired, and new photos need to take place! From the recent correspondence leading up to this post between miss Jarratt and I, we will be doing this again shortly! :)

"Harper has Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), which is a really complicated way of saying that she has a big, scary cancer that grew inside of her beautiful little bones." -Still Kickin
Master Instructor, Tracy Palmer of YAS Silverlake, led the wonderful group of Family, friends, and supporters of the like through a signature 30/30 YAS class! Kicking things off with high intensity cardio for 30 mins in the spin room and ending in the yoga room with restorative breathing and stretching for the last 30 mins.
All the proceeds of the class went directly to help Harper's family, as well as sales from any Still Kickin Merchandise sold!
I feel like the universe keeps conspiring to make me a better person! I am happy to know that my art can help shed a little bit of light on someone's world! I wish Baby Harper a speedy Recovery and send her lots of love and light!

until Next Time!
This past Sunday, I was asked to come take photos at a Makeover Event at Bolt barbershop in DTLA. The event was being spearheaded by none other than my good friend Ashley Sugarman, with the support and backing of the organization she is so diligently working alongside called Homeless Health Care of Los Angeles. Her mission is to bring Art's and Entertainment to the less fortunate. With this event practically collapsing in the middle stages of planning, Ashley, and her inspiring "Don't take no for an answer!" mentality, pulled it through to fruition and more. She had Hair stylists, makeup artists and celebrity Fashion stylists from LA and NY all ready to service some of Los Angeles' homeless men and women to give them a treat; a break even from the daily confines of life's circumstances.
Two nights before the event I went with Ashley to organize the Heaps of Donated Clothing and Shoes, and that's where I got to intimately take it all in. There was so much merchandise, most of which still had tags on them. A lot of it wasn't even used. Fashion PR companies and Showrooms donated a lot of their gear to support such a great event. Each homeless person that would walk through the doors on Sunday would get to pick as many outfits as they could possibly carry back with them and get mega star treatment as well! I knew I was in the right place, and I'm not even talking about being in that faux janitor closet at that barbershop with bags and bags of clothing everywhere. Like my hubby always says when life brings natural fulfillment, "I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be!"
I was having a blast watching the glam team makeover these lovely men and women. It was really touching when you could see the natural expressions of gratitude they would exhibit at the kindness and generosity that was being shown to them! Most importantly, they were having fun!
There was a woman named Nancy that was there with her two younger daughters. She shared that she fights daily with feelings of Unworthiness and has a hard time wrapping her head around anything good that happens to her and her family. We urged her to put that aside and to just soak it all in. I fought back the tears, unsuccessfully, when she expressed how utterly grateful she was for this experience and for her daughters to have experienced this with her. They all got glammed up and the girls mentioned they wanted to do good in school so that they could help each other out of the rut and treat themselves and their mom to the pampering every once in a while!! So touching and Humbling!
Some may criticize that Vanity is the wrong avenue to try and inspire and motivate people, but I'm a firm believer in feeling good inside and out! Its easy to agree that its not the cure all for all of life's problems, but truth is no one has those answers. The majority of you reading this today are probably in a position to indulge in life's little miracles that come in the form of a facial, a mani/pedi, a haircut, and/or retail therapy...and I can guarantee that half of you probably take that for granted sometimes.
I'm happy and feel extremely blessed to have been able to shed a little sunlight on some lives by means of an industry I came to appreciate later on in my 20's. From my previous and current work in fashion to my most recent involvement in the fitness industry, I stand behind all things wellbeing! I commend my friend Ashley Sugarman as well as all the volunteers that shared their time and talents to give back to our fellow brothers and sisters in need! People like you continuously make me want to be a better human being! :)
Special shoutout to the vendors and companies that contributed in some way or another! Thanks a Million for your ongoing support and dedication to humanity. Major Apologies if I missed anyone.

Until next time:)
Among the guests at the party were Larry Namer (Founder of E! Entertainment), Suzanne Whang (House Hunters International), Kyle Chan (Celebrity Jewelry Designer), Derek Jameson (Recording Artist Universal Music Group), and many many more!
If you've never heard of THE AVE, then you're missing out! For those of us that like to be unique and consider ourselves artistic, this place is a gem that will make you feel empowered and at home! Their trademarked catchphrase is CUSTOM EVERYTHING, and its pretty literal! They are a unique shop that customizes everything from shoes, to hats, to tshirts, to mugs, to whatever you can think of. Nick Romero, the owner AND creator of this concept has created and patented specialty printers that will print on whatever you want.
Recently they threw a major rager party on the rooftop of their Venice location, their flagship store! I was hired to capture the magic that is their eclectic staff and clientele and overall, community. Nick was super generous and very gracious and made sure through the entire night that Daniel and I were taken care of as far as having fun and drinking! Heres a recap of the evening!
Documenting the Insanity of the Obvious!! :) Welcome to my photography blog. Will attempt to fill you in on all of the fun and excitement that AUGUSTUS is being exposed to!
